Default Are lawyers negotiable?

I'm starting a business and at very angle I'm looking to do things at the most efficient way.

Legal stuff is expensive, and the lawyer is quoting me $5,000 to do a specific project, would she (the lawyer) think I'm a total idiot if I negotiate with them and saying "i'll do it for 4"

Depends on the lawyer. If they are part of a large firm, they'll laugh, if they're an 'independent', they'll consider it.

Just refine your haggling to suit -- treat them like a lawyer, not a vendor at a flea market ;o)

It's been my experience that almost everything is negotiable. Be sure to present your offer as if you KNOW what the work is worth, not like you're pinching pennies.

Absolutely, everything is negotiable. I don't necessarily think they will not negotiate if they are with a big firm either. I would shop around also. Hopefully, you'll find a lawyer that is willing to "invest" a little in you as you get started in hopes that as your business grows you will use more of his/her services. My lawyer rarely charges me for answering simple questions or reviewing documents - I think he's hoping I make it big someday.
